New Year, New Interns CCSDD
April 12, 2012
New Year
After the success of last year's blog in raising awareness about the Center for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development's (CCSDD) Sarajevo Study Trip and its European Union and Legal Reform Summer School in Montenegro, a batch of new interns have arrived to build on the past interns' accomplishments.
This year, the Communication Managers would like to continue developing the CCSDD's blog in a number of ways. First of all, it will remain a primary vehicle for releasing information about the Center's two educational programs. With the deadline quickly approaching for the 2013 Sarajevo Study Trip, buzz continues to develop around this year's activities. Second of all, the blog will be used to highlight the Center's other events and research elements. Recently, the CCSDD in cooperation with the Johns Hopkins University SAIS Bologna Center, the Comune di Bologna and the Università degli Studi di Bologna Istituto per L'Europa Centro-Orientale e Balcanica (IECOB) organized a day-long international conference entitled, "Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Balkans: 20 Years Later Memory, Reconciliation, Politics, The Challenges for Old and New Generations." The blog will be able to report more on these events and research taking place at the Center. Finally, the blog will bring to light the academic and professional work of our interns, as a testament to their contributions to the CCSDD.
Future Updates
- With the deadline of the Sarajevo Study Trip quickly approaching, we are going to give an overview of the program based on the details given by CCSDD intern Antonio Skarica at the Sarajevo information session this past November.
- One of the CCSDD's events this semester was a guest lecture with Professor Jason Mazzone of the University of Illinois, who was going to speak about his research on, "Obamacare: Law, Politics and Culture." The lecture was part of the Center's Law Seminar Series. However, due to an illness, Professor Mazzone was not able to travel to Bologna. He has graciously offered to provide some details on his work that will be published here.
- The international conference on Bosnia took place on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the Johns Hopkins University SAIS Bologna Center. The blog will expand on the event itself, with pictures and comments from CCSDD intern, Chiara Monti.
